Directors from the chapter will work through the process of finding, evaluating, and selecting small companies.

Companies presented are placed in a virtual portfolio on Manifest Investing, with each new addition beginning with $1,000. The link to tracking of the performance of each of the selections over time can be found here.

Some of the sources we will be using are:

  • Small Cap Informer

 Portfolio Management

Saturday, March 4, 2017

Christ Church United Methodist
9:00 am - 12.30 pm; $40.00

This class looks at the overall makeup of a portfolio. We consider what portfolio management is and is not; consider the implications of the total number of holdings, the percentage of each holding in a portfolio, diversification by size of company and different ways of measuring company size, diversification by industry and sector; the effects of adding to, or reducing a single holding on the overall portfolio. Toolkit 6 and other resources are used to explore the concepts.

After a series of examples, we will have a practice session, examining a  portfolio and applying the principles discussed in the presentation.

Some experience in evaluating companies using the SSG will greatly enhance the understanding of this approach to portfolio management.

Clubs registering three or more members qualify for a discount, which will be applied after attending the class.

Class will not be held for fewer than four attendees, and will be cancelled two days prior to  the scheduled class if the minimum is not met.
